I am an alumni of a Ski Club. Members who owned their own boat was the only good/easy way because they controlled the boat. We also leased a used boat, but you have to have a VERY structured club to get together money, driver/rider program, and lake time. Also, we had problems because only a few members had vehicles to tow the boat the right way. One of our members got into a wreck because he took the boat out with a 4-cyclinder Ranger and couldn't stop. I know some schools pull it off, but we didn't have much luck. Now they just rely on anyone who owns a boat.

Here are team I know that have boats...

Alabama - Mastercraft
Auburn - Nautique
Virginia Tech - Mastercraft (older)
Kansas State - Centurion
Clemson - Malibu
Florida Southern College - Nautique
Texas - Centurion
Duke - Nautique
UNC Charlotte - Infinity
UNC Chapel Hill - Mastercraft (older)
Tennessee - Mastercraft
Kentucky - Moomba
Oklahoma State - Centurion
UNC Wilmington - Malibu
Texas A&M - Nautique (older)
Texas Tech - Tige'
Michigan - Mastercraft
Michigan State - Mastercraft
Arizona State - Nautique and Centurion (i think)

and the list goes on. I do not know the west coast schools very well. As a former collegiate skier/rider I do know that Correct Craft, Mastercraft, and Malibu do not have collegiate programs for their bost. The schools are doing it through a dealer. Centurion and Elan have collegiate programs. And the other companies I have no clue.

Our uni club( university of Queensaland ) has had a ski club for 42 years. We have had up to 3 boats at once during that time and upgrade every 2 years. We get funding from the universities sport program rated on how many members we have.

Graduated in May 2001. I still live in C'dale, and work on the Crab Orchard Refuge. What are you doing out in California? Did you know anyone on the Ski Club?

Nah I didn't know any one but i has heard about it in the DE a few times. I grew up in California and I was recruited by the track team. The track thing only lasted for a semester as you could understand living in Carbondale.I thought about looking into the ski club because I was a pretty good skier but I just never found the time between class and the strip. My wife is actually from Centralia and we go back a few times a year. I was bummed to see that Laroma's closed down. do you guys ski or board on Rend or Crab Orchard? I have been out on Rend a few times and I have never seen a wakeboarding boat. Is it starting to catch on there? I thought about moving to Marion and opening a Calabria dealership. With the lack of wb/ski boats I figured that I could make a killing.
