i have been practicing dups alot lately. i can get the timing right and hit them perfect, but i always shoot straight up and get crazy air but i dont go w2w. it kills my knees.... any pointers?

would it be a good idea to empty the ballast before i pracice them? to make the wake less lippy sending me out not up?

Hell no you don't need empty your ballast. Cool

If the wake is real wide, the driver probably pulled off the throttle.

Try taking a longer and more progressive cut into the 2up. You can come off your edge a little to pump in and out of the swell, just be sure to keep the line tight.

It sounds like you have your timing down but your edge might be a little mellow. Try taking a wider cut.

The first thing that comes to mind is the driving pattern - get the driver to go back through the wake closer to a 45 deg angle and you should definately clear the wake. My bro tends to drive past 90 deg (almost completing a circle) and it causes me to go straight up and often get bucked off-axis. Good luck.
