Ok I went out to the lake yesterday to practice a bit and see if I could clear the wake. After a whole bunch a failed tries I gave up and let my friend try it. He started to try surface 360's but he was not able to make them. After he stopped I though that I will try the 360's my self. to my surprice I was able to do it on the first try. After you do the first one it is super easy to stay doing 360's one after the other. The other trick that I learned is the one where you are riding and without jumping the wake you jump and do a 180 before landing in the same side of the wake. Can someone tell me what is the name of the trick with the 180 jump?

Also I am going to try to film my self to show you guys and see if you can help me with some pointers on how to clear the wake.

Thank you

Are you talking about an ollie 180?...Or are you using just one side of the wake, and landing on that same side?...That would be a Re-entry 180.

ccameselle, yep that's an ollie 180. Are you working on your switch riding?

Hey Justin,

I can ride both ways. I do not know wich way is wich but I know I can ride. The easiest way for me to ride is with my right foot in front, and I jump from the left side of the boat to the right. I think that is called heel side. I am sorry about not knowing the names. I need to find a website where I can read and learn all the names. I can not do the "toeside" jump. I fall as soon as I hit the wave.

Thank you

ccameselle, http://www.wakeboarder.com/tricks/glossary.phtml
When you are doing ollies, it shouldn't matter which side of the wake you are on. Or do you mean you can only do them when you are riding with your right foot forward? BTW, if you are more comfortable riding with your right foot forward, that's called being goofy footed.
To land toeside jumps (which you need to learn how to do for future tricks) do your progressive edge in toeside, when you are in the air, focus on staying turned away from the boat. A common mistake when learning toeside jumps is to let yourself become "untwisted" in the air, and then you don't land on edge and the board slides out from under you.

Hey timmyDecker,

Thank you for the link. Let me see if i can use the correct lingo now.
I ride goofy and I can also ride switch. I can do heelside w2w, but only on the goofy stand. I am working on the switch w2w. I can do the ollie 180 from goofy to switch but not from switch to goofy. And I can do the surface 360. When I try to do the toeside jump I don't even make it to the jump I hit a face plant as soon as I hit the wave. I am still working on it.

Thank you guys for all your help. I will keep training and I hope to have a video soon.

Cool Very Happy Laughing

I went out this weekend to practice all the tricks that I already know and to see if I could get a new one. After a couple of tries I was able to land an air 180 off the first wake. I was not able to do the w2w 180 but I will keep trying as soon as the cold weather goes away. I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather. I was able to do them HS. Next time I am gonna only practice TS jumps so I can get used to that stand. I was not able to capture video since the person responsable for the camera forgot to bring it. Shocked I will keep you guys posted.
