Will rope placement aid you in getting extra height. Right now all we can manage is tying the rope to the back of the lower boat so it basically wraps around the motor. Is there something out there we could attach to the boat so the roap gets more height. I am new to this and will this is a new endeavour for the whole family.

A tower will help you stay in the air longer, not get more height from your jumps. If you don't want to go the tower route, you can get a pylon. The pylon won't give you as much height as the tower.

-palms-, khoekz16, it made sense. A tower gives you more hangtime, not more air.

That part made sense, it's the part where he says a pylon will give you less height that doesn't. If a tower doesn't give you more height, why would a pylon give you less?

yeah why?

People say that a Pylon sways (SP?) more than a tower
but mine doesn't sway that much

My bad. The tow point of a pylon is not as high as the tow point of a tower. For example, the tow point for my tower is somewhere around 7 feet off of the deck. The pylons that I have seen are only about 3 or 4 feet tall. Are there pylons that reach as high as a tower? I haven't seen any, but I've been wrong before...once.

Skylon makes a 7' pylon. Most of the factory pylons are pretty short like you had mentioned.

TimmyD, you must be pretty new to wakeboarding if you have not seen any pylons 7' high. do a little 'information super highway' search and you will see what I am talking about. An extended pylon, one that you purchase aftermarket to slide over the ski pylon in most dd's and v-drives is quite similiar to riding behind a tower. Sure, they look like crap, can sway quite a bit (costing you minimal airtime), and take up a ridiculous amount of space, but the result is comparable to a tower.

Google 'wakeboard pylons' and read. Shocked
