| Sandel bindings and the current open toe models are no where close to being as comparable as open toe bindings and closed toe, closed toes are just a little piece of extra material that will add a little extra advantages...no disagreeing, i like closed toe as well. And if you think of it slalom skis has had closed toe bootsfor like 15 years and wakeboarding is now just catching on.

i have nothing against closed toe bindings but i prefer open to i just feel more comfy in them and there more convenient open toe can have more sizes in one when closed toe can only be like size 7-9 open can be like 6-11.5

Because where i live, we wear sandals year round.
also i have made this diagram:
i honestly don't know why everybody is making such a big deal over it, it's just bindings and people prefer what the prefer.

Wow this is retarted. whats up with all you closed toe movement people. let people choose which one they want for themselves. if they ask tell... if they dont ask.. STOP MAKING RETARTED THREADS. I love the new ronix scout close toe boots. But im not gonna say that they will help my riding skills or everyone is gay that doesnt like them.
I would like them rather they were closed toe or open toe. They just feel good and offer support and taking the little peice of pleather that covers up the toe area prolly wouldnt change the feel very much

| JLaws, very accurate diagram and post, it is just a piece of material and another product in which the companies seek to generate more revenue

Moderators - Please make this thread go away. There's been a rampant onset of stupidity on these forums in the past several days.

Why do we have open toe bindings? So ignorant kids that think they know way more about wakeboarding than than actually do will have yet one more thing to argue about on the internet in between furious porn sessions.

People use open toe so they don't break their toes if they slide out of the front of their boot. Ask Bill M. He loved his Shanes until he jacked up his toe about a month after he got them.
Closed toe serves some purpose but open toe will never go away.

| I think the only reason boots are starting to become closed toe is that they are starting become more and more like snowboarding boots. From the look and the liners and the support. Whether they need to be closed toe to do that well no probably not Like everyone states they most likely don't make a difference but damn some of them sure look cool ie. Ronix One and the Cell Boot ( from the pictures anyway)

I used to love closed toe bindings too, until I ripped my toenail off on a hard landing now I can't even think about ever riding them again. You could also jam the heck out your toes.

I've cased the wake pretty bad on several occasions and my foot slid forward atleast an inch and a half (maybe more) in my watsons. If I Ihad been wearing the Shanes, who knows what would have happened.

| open and closed toes are the same to me even though i really like how stiff the watsons are and dislike the lack of stiffness in the shanes. I also have said it before but including hurting toes I also get the toes to catch the water(could of been i wa riding a differnt board to) but i kept catch the toes and hurt the hell out of my arm and slapt the water a few times like i got hit by a 2x4.
