hey i am kinda thinking that i need a trampoline, does it help a whole lot for wakeboarding? I was watching some videos of people doing tricks on the tramps and it was absolutely insane!! How do they do that without falling off? When i do backflips on my friends tramp i hit the springs every time and it hurts. any safety tips?

and has anybody ever like broke a bone or something on a tramp?

dig a hole into the ground that the allows you to jump, as well as, has enough clearance to put the tramp in. Much better on people being ig'nant and getting hurt.

For backflips, don't jump off your heels.

I haven't broken anything on the trampoline yet but I've winded myself on the bar trying some back 3's. And some OA spins.

If you use a rope you can kind of save yourself on a lot of tricks.

Trampolines are reall worth it so go buy one for the off season.

tramps help. I would highly recommend one. Get some old used wakeboard rope to attach it to a tree and have that goin for handle control. Also get a skateboard deck and ducktape shoes onto it for your board.

jakenj, I picked mine up for $250 (CDN) from Wal Mart but it's not super bouncy for a 13 footer. Go for 13 feet at least, but keep in mind you get what you pay for.

personally i've had a bad run with trampolines... when i was 11 i fell onto my head and the uppermost vertibrae in my neck turned completely vertical putting my spinal cord in an "s" shape, i had to wear a collar for 6 months.. and iv hit my shins on the outer metal thing rim and that sucks..
and just recently i landed on my head on the springs and needed stitches.
i do better just winging it on the water

distance09 was me
i got deleted or something
but yea dude, i think its just me. for anybody else.. trampolines are probably a good learning tool. biggest advice - get the padding around the springs. or one of those net things... though i dont know where you'd tie the handle to

trampolines help mostly with muscle memory, so handle passes, and pulling for spins/ mobes. don't expect it to feel exactly like it does on the tramp when you take it to the water. it is different but you get the idea.

yeah i already know if i get one then i will definentaly get the paddings around the springs, but not the net. better yet i am going to have some new neighbors with some people we already know and i could just use theirs, they were talking about putting it in the ground but i dont know yet

i am going to help my neighbor pick out a tramp, and i was looking at "sundances" tramps and they look good, if i start learning flips and crap like that guy on that sweet video, i am afraid of falling off, so should we get a big octagon one or what?

keep in mind the octagon and square ones are like 1000 to 2000 dollars
where as the circle ones are like 300 to 500 dollars

but my biggest concern is falling off

i love my trampoline, it definitley helped with trying inverts. It helped my awarness when upside down.

so far i've learned hoochie glides, kgb, tantrums, tantrum to blind, front flips, and various OA spins.

i've only hurt myself once on a trampoline and that was when i attempted a double backroll, and i hyperextended my back, that hurt reallllly bad. I've heard plenty of horror stories though.

sick video

alright so i finally got my trampoline(for xmas) and to my suprise i nearly paralized meself a couple of times doing backflips

it makes no sense at my friends house i could land a backflip 1 out of 2 times, but i would always get the corect flipping rotation, (i went to his house a lot) and one time i was over there i was kinda shooting foward once i hit the trampoline coming out of the flip but it was not a big deal, keep in mind his tramp. is sorta at a slope

anyways i get out there today on mine, and there is just a little slope not as much as my friends tramp, and i take of about half a foot in front of the middle and i do a major of axis 90 and land right on my back near the springs that i was looking at before i attempted the trick, and it hurt real bad, then i get angry and do it again, i get the exact same outcome. I called my friend and we both agreed that i should just stay off for the rest of the day, but could some one help me get back on the road to landing backflips

Get some spotters to help you out. Two people, one on each side that can assist you in the flipping motion. Of course, do it slow and not from a full bounce or anything, but it will help you get the feeling of going straight back over. lead with your head and look straight back, not to the side.
