|
|
| Want to buy a wakeboard. Have slalom skied since I was a kid and want to make the switch. Should I go with the cheaper starter board (Stance) or go dirctly into something I can grow into (Substance)? I am nowhere near a shop that I can use demos. |

I would say go with the substance too. you outgrow beginner boards pretty quickly, and they wind up just being a waste of money, unless you never plan on ever getting very dedicated or very good _________________

Substance as well, agree with everything that LakeIolaLuke, and Blindside_137 said. Best long run investment. _________________ Neuston Boards

| Thanks for the input guys. I think I will just have to buck up and go with the substance. Any thoughts on bindings? |

If you want to stay with LF for bindings, then I'd say get the Transits. If memory serves, you can get the Transits with the substance as a package and save some money. I have a set of Transits and a set of Watsons and I love them both. IMO, well worth the money to get a good set of bindings rather than the cheapest model. _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

I'd agree with going for the substance, and what company's bindings are you looking at? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

| I am thinking LF. After looking at all the boards, I keep coming back to LF. So, I think if I go with a LF board, I should go with a LF binding. I keep coming back to the 06' Element. On timmyDecker's recommendation I am going to look into the Transits a little more. Where are you finding the Substance/Transit package. I have been all over the net looking for the best deal and pricing is all over the place. |

mkean1217, at 185 you could technically ride any of the substance lengths, although the 134 would be pretty small. If it were me, I would go with the 142, especially if you still have some growing to do. So, it sounds like you've got it figured out now. Hopefully you can still get some riding in with your new board before your season is over. _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

mkean1217,
Here are the sites...I don't know how helpful they will be with the 07 line coming out and the clerance of 06 items but here they are.... www.grizzly-sports.com or go here to view the ebay site http://stores.ebay.com/Grizzly-Sports-com-wake-snow-outlet , this is where i got my bindings and board from. If they don't have what you are looking for on the ebay site check out their website and call them for pricing. The sales rep is very helpful and the prices on their website are higher then what they sell them for. On the website the 06' ERA bindings were $189, I told the guy i saw them on the ebay site for $150 and he sent them to the door with shipping and everything for $150. Also check out www.evogear.com
Hope this was helpful, good luck. |

| stuzzy07 Good info. These are the 2 sites that I have noticed are selling things at the best price. It is good to hear that they are for real and I am on the right track. I am just afraid of buying a blem over the internet without seeing it in person. But, with the $ you save I guess I should just go for it. |

| mkean1217, The products are straight from the factory and they all come with a warranty, they are brand new in the box and if for any reason there is something wrong with the product you can always just return it. So there is really no way you can go wrong, especially with the money you save. |
