well this might not be good advice cause im not throwin 7's but it looks like you went off-axis a little bit but then went back straight.....

i dunno maybe focus on keeping that axis more and it will be easier. looks good to me though, just keep practicing im sure youll stick it[/img]

Hey sick 7 attempt. Im at about the same stage as you but these are some things i'd look at. How solid are you at landing toeside fs 360 wrapped? could be worth some practice. Also mellow your cut in out looks like your landing quite low on the wake and in the hard transition.

hope its of some use

looks about right, your off-axis(ness) was about perfect. my advice would be to just keep practice landing wrapped, or learn to make that last handle pass.

nice attempt. try to wait a little longer before you spin. it sounds crazy but you get so much more upps, makin the spin that much easier and you will have more time onthe landings/

Nice - but take a shorter approach. That wider approach can cause you to not pop and wait, plus you'll get more ups with the shorter approach.

just some little advice but try taking a shorter approach and instead of turning into the wake and going straight at it, try pullin against the boat like tug o war and have weight on your back foot, you wont get as much speed towards the wake but you can get made vertical pop if you really push off the top of the wake before you start spinning. once you get up into the air, start your spin, i also reccomend keeping the handle closer to your body on handle passes because your gettin pulled the wrong way on landing.

There are 2 keys to getting the 7. First, you ought to be really solid with your wrapped landings (this just takes practice). Second, you actually need to use a different edge into the wake than on an oa 5. It's not just a shorter approach; you actually want to edge up the wake a bit more. The reason for this is twofold. First, if you use a trip flip edge your natural rotation is to a 540, so more rotation causes you to come down with weight on your back foot and/or heels (like you do in your vid). Second, it helps to get straight up pop so that you can land on the 2nd wake.

When I first started trying 7's, I would always take them into the flats because I wanted more heighth--that's not the way to learn them. When I finally got the feel for the right edge, that's when I started landing them.

(By the way, I'll be back in WA for the summer, so if you ever want to ride let me know!)

Personally i would say hold on to the handle longer to your back hip with two handes before the pass and that will help. Just wat i think, but it could be the difference. Smile

ok ya so i learned a better way to do them, take a wide approach and set into a mellow edge with enough speed to get across the wake... when you get to the wake, keep the handle in close and try to bring your front knee up by your wrist (push really hard off the back foot to boot vertical. start your spin while keeping the rope in close during your handle passes. When it comes to the landing, look towards the shore and lock your eyes on an object (i usually look at a tree, or dock) and pin the handle at your hip.

the reason for focusing on an object will make your body stop rotating where as you kept spinning from looking forward. hope some of this helps and good luck

agreed on anyone telling you to get more pop. You have the trick, you just need to get a little more pop and be somewhat comfortable landing wrapped.

P.S. that video quality is bonkers!

The ONLY imput I can really add is have you tried it off the double up? Question

And look when your board FIRST hits the water on the landing. now look at your lead (left) hand. You look like you're trying to grab your boots, not make a second handle pass. Your left hand should've been behind your back if not on the handle.

Nice attempt though. Wink

Tyler, thanks for the input. We definitely need to hook up and ride next summer.

I think I kind of figured out the correct edge when I was going for crow mobes. Like taking the trick more up i guess.

Robert Harp, I am going to land the trick wrapped. Thats how I do TS 3s.

Why thank you David. I enjoy the wakeburton videos as well. I've been saving up my footage all summer and I'll put my 06 video out soon.
