when wakeboarding what length rope should i use? is it harder to get up if the ropes shorter? or does it make it easier to get up when the ropes farther out. also, if anyone knows, when riding behind a seadoo (i know the wakes suck on jetboats) where the best part of the wake is. is it close or far out. that would also help with my rope question. wicked thanks!

Newbie question (lol theres a forum for it!)

just get a rope where you can adjust the lengths and experiment with different parts of the wake...

thats as easy as it gets.

As far as rope length, do what jlaws said. I own a jetboat, and the best part of the wake is relatively close to the boat (I ride at about 65 feet.)

Adjust it to the best part of the wake...

Just look at your wake and adjust your rope. and it doesnt really matter how long it is to get up.

Get the boat up to your normal riding speed and let out the rope. Keep letting more rope out until the handle is at the part of the wake were the wake looks the best. That should be were you should ride. Though, keep in mind, the faster you go the longer the rope you will need. It shouldn't be too easy to clear the wake, but you should be able to do it and even go out into the flats.
