I was wondering how to sequence a group of pics, so you can see the wake, and several images of the rider through out the progression of the trick. Much like what is done in the WBM instructionals.

thanks for the help in advance.

i am pretty sure you need a camera with a high shutter speed, which means $$$. Go to best buy website and click on the link camera research under electronic bar. They give you 10 reason to buy an SLR (single lense reflex) and a D SLR (digital Single lense reflex) cheapest one i've seen was $700 and run up to $3k. Good luck, hope this info helps, and again i am not 100% sure on this. You could also email some photographers.

Are those the widest you have? I made this choppy sequence last winter by taking one full picture then pasting her on it.

the pictures you have right now though, you're gonna have to stitch them together, which is gonna make it look really weird since they are at different exposure levels(that first pic is really dark...)

Doesn't look to me like it is all one sequence... Is it? Something about the backgrounds look wrong.

Usually to make a sequence, you layer them all on top of eachother in P-shop, and allign the backgrounds as much as you can. Then mask out everything but the rider in all but one picture. The one you leave has the rider & background, and all the other rider pics look like they are on the single background.

As Laugh Damon said, it is harder when the background is so narrow, so you will have to stitch the images together to get a background that all the rider pics will fit onto. As well, you will have to equalize the exposure etc to make them look correct.

Nice trick though.

yeah but how many mega pixels is it on the sequence setting. $150 is a good price for a digi, but the M.P. quality decreases in other settings. I was just thinking in terms of what the pros use. I am going to check my digi to see if i have sequence because i have never even thought of trying a sequence shot out until now.

yeah but the idea is to get the same background shot like they do in magazines...that is still a sick compilation though, don't blame you for trying. i am sure you don't have thousands of dollars of photo equipment either

mitchell- thanks dude, that is exactly what i was looking for. Its not perfect but pretty damn sick none the less. i've got a few other sequences that would look pretty sick on compliation.

this was taken several hours after i brain-farted my run in nationals for mens 1. I was so pissed at that run that i just went out rode like i knew i could, and turned it into one of the best sets of the summer.

the backgrounds of this probably look jacked up because there was an S curve in the river and one bank has a ton more trees than the other. we just drove a straight line thru it.

jhilly8982 - the shot was just before the firm point of the grab, but as you can see by the next frame, I definitely didn't hold it very long like i should have. then it would be totally legit.

Thanks guys... maybe I can write one of those wb mag instructionals Laughing

As for people taking sequence shots... it's best if you can get the whole wake in each pic. Makes it a lot easier to stitch and makes the lighting more uniform.

no one could get in the shot of me landing the only t2b wrapped??? just kiddin' that was an amazing job sequencing.

The shutter speed was set a little too high and 2 attempts at the same trick were shot. the approach and takeoff was lost. somehow the last shot of the 2nd attempt fired late and that's why the landing is so far from the wake.

If you shoot the trick with less zoom then the sequence will look heaps better.

The thing about the backgrounds... the first shot (the one with the grab), the background looks like it is the shore on the right side of the boat (as viewed from the spotter), the next shot looks like it is the background on the left side. No problem here so-far... You are just panning across. However, the next 2 shots after that (starting to rotate blind, and just touching down on the water) the background is the right side of the river again...

Oh ya... Great job Ontrider!
