I tried wake boarding for the first time 2 weeks ago , and had a kick a$$ time and desided to buy my own. I bought a Hyper Light ERA 135 on ebay and its due to be here next week . The first board that i tied was a Obrien evil Twin . Was able to get up after 4 tries . I Thought that it was pretty easy with some good coaching and driving of my boat from my nephiew . Board seemed pretty slow and easy . This last weekend I rode a hyper light project 142 . Seemed very skittish . It would carve on a dime , almost scary but fun . What should i expect out of the ERA ? Was this a good choice ? I figured better of buying a used nice board than waste my time with a cheepie new one . Also all of the reviews of this board say run with out the fins on the board. Being a beginer should i use it with the fins on , or will i develop any bad habits with them On?
Thanks

At this stage in your wakeboarding life, just worry about having fun. Try with and without the fins and go with whatever you enjoy the most. Also, you made a good choice with the Era.

rschev, i have tried the era, and it was a nice board. u should definately ride with no fins, the first time its a little unstable, but you get used to it.

d22, riding with or without fins tends to be purely the persons preference.

Justin 25, yah im just saying. if your good enough to ride without fins, do it. i like it because u can do more surface tricks like surface 3's and butterslides.

d22, you can still do surface tricks with fins, it's just harder. A lot of really good riders ride with fins...oh well, nevermind. Very Happy

Good advice.
