| I am jumping around on my board now and was wanting to find a trick to try. Would it be better to learn surface tricks first or jump tricks? Also what are some tricks for beginners to try on a boat with a small wake? |

Do you have a pic of the wake? And you can work on air 180's and easy grabs, do you have any surface tricks down? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

I will try to get a picture of my wake next weekend. I hope to put a a bunch of my weights in the boat to improve it. The only thing I have really tried on the surface is a 180. I can usualy switch the first time but have a hard time getting back around again. I think I should get that pretty easily next time. I never really heard of surface tricks before checking out this forum last week, but hope to try some next trip.
My main goal next trip is to get better rinding switch stance. This is my first summer riding and dind't put much effort into learning some of the basics. I plan to spend a good time riding switch next trip. |

try to do ollie 180's in the flats. Those will really help you learn to both ride switch and land switch _________________ Neuston Boards

jer4011, yeah, working on your switch riding is definitely a good idea. Can you go w2w or even jump the wake? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

I can jump the wake and get close w2w, but do not always land whenever I jump that far. I was landing everytime before I got my new board, then I landed on my head real hard and shyed away from jumping the rest of the day and that was my last trip out.
I also worked on trying to jump toeside, nothing to big just wanting to get a feel for it. |

go to this sites home page and then look over to the left and click on trick tips and then click on heelside progressive edge, and then to toeside progressive edge, and finally click on Learning 180s
P.S. after you learn surface 180s(step #3) learn how to do butterslides and butterslide 180s then you can continue on and learn ollie 180s(step #4) |

well said jakenj !
riding switch is hard at the beginning, but worth it when you have it down...
