I'm gonna buy a handle but it has the options of a straight line, T bar or V bar. Are the T and V the little handles for wrapped jumps?
Thanks |

yep, a a V-bar looks like --<|>-- and a T-bar is like --|--
.. hope this helps. I personally like a T-bar, if you fall, you don't get caught up in the v. _________________ |X|anadu |

Xanadu and Bunkz already said what it is....
Xanadu, why do you like a T bar?
And straight line means there is no handle to grab for wrapped spins. _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

At the risk of making a complete @$$ out of myself...
I have a V-bar on my handle, and I know you are supposed to use it for wrapped spins, but I don't understand how to use it...
I've also heard people say you shouldn't use it...you should just learn to do the handle pass.
What's the deal? _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

you grab the handle behind your back with your trailing arm, then grab the v with your leading arm. when you do a 360 or something, you can do it hs without having to do a handle pass.
and justin, i like t because when you fall, theres no risk of falling into the v and breaking your wrist. _________________ |X|anadu |

timmyDecker, anybody that tells you to learn the handle pass is a jackass. The wrap is awkward at first, but is a great teaching/learning tool in wakeboarding. Most people that say don't use it have never used it themselves.
A wrapped BS 180 is the best way to learn W2W BS 180's.
There's been some great offerings in the thread. so take all the post for what they're worth. The V- and T-handle might be cheating to some people, but if you use them correctly they can be incredible teaching tools and allow you to progress much faster. _________________ Neuston Boards

Sinkoumn,
I definitely understand what you're saying about the "cheater" handles being effective teaching tools. I haven't used one (yet) but what you're saying makes sense.
My only question for you though is, are you saying do wrapped tricks INSTEAD of learning to pass the handle or are you saying its a good way to PROGRESS to passing the handle?
Thanks for the input. Gawd I love this sport. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

| use the the V bar, it teaches you to spot your landing on spins, eventually making it easier to learn how to do handle pass 3s |

jhilly8982, how does a V bar teach you to spot your landings but a T bar doesn't? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

There is absolutely no reason why anyone should buy a V bar (unless you happen to be one of the rare individuals who thinks they're more comfortable... which I just don't understand). Not only is it heavier and more expensive, but it gives you another hole to get your arm stuck in on a fall.
I have no idea what jhilly is talking about...
By the way, it's not cheating if you grab all the way through. |

you mean all that they are there for is to help with warpped spins and somthing to grab on to? For some reason somwhere I though tI herd that they could possibly help with getting more tension in the line for more pop. (but I'm probably wrong cause I don't even remember where I herd that or who from) |
