| What year is the Force engine? I had an '89 bayliner with a Force engine. It was an awful engine, and it wasn't a mercury. Mercury didn't buy out force until i believe 1991, and the previous owner was Chrysler. The engine was hard to keep running well(it did always run) and having it rebuilt was expensive. Anything after 91 though, you are right, a merc with a different cowl hood on it. |

| It eventually got old, I guess. It was an 89 model 85 horse, but I would estimate it had around 2000 hours on it before the rebuild. It made it a good way, my dad and his friends slalomed behind it and we wakeboarded behind it, so the engine was worked hard. I think when it died, the pistons were warped, or something. we had a rebuild on the original block, it didn't blow up. I don't know the proper compression for it though. |

My first boat was a 16' bayliner with a force on it. Good boat horrible motor.
Force has a history of being horrible motors that don't last. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

| so much for that, the owner left it outside and it snowed and then it melted and froze again so everything in teh boat is under ice, and the stearing is shot |
