I can get up wakeboarding fine, but I can't seem to get up on the skate. i go slow so that the board gets sucked to my feet, then i tell my driver to hit it, and the board goes all wonky, and i cant get up. ill try to stand up and i get pulled over. does the boat just need to go faster, as the board is like half the size?

Yes go fast at the start...try standing on the board more than letting it float in front of you...It is alot easier for me.

well, there is very little difference in getting up. The difference being that wakeskates are typically looser than wakeboards and they are smaller. I'd say keep practicing. If you are comfortable on a wakeboard it should come easily. Just make sure to keep your needs very bent.

If your having problems keeping your footing, try holding the rope with one hand and keep the other on the front edge. Once the tension builds the board should stay put. Getting used to your feet not being strapped in is really the only difference in getting up.

To be honest i learned by slow strats at first, now ithe driver can hit it and i can get up, if you stand up to early the board will become unstable. try to squat until the board is more on a plane. if you have a balence board at home practice, turn it so you are riding as iff you were do a 50-50 on a skateboard if you master that it will get easier. and yes the more you practice the better you'll get.

One time... in Band camp.. I was able to get up on a kneboard... and I was able to ride it like a skateboard... it was so cool.

Actually it was last weekend. One of the bindings on my board broke so I took out the kneboard and started to waterskate. It was supppeeeerrrr loose in the water but we had a blast. I actualy had an idiot in the lake come and ask me if I knew that the board was a knewboard. Shocked

Nope I said.. I though the two holes were so two people could ride it. Cool

What a dumb a$$

^^lol my friend did that too, but then he broke the kneeboard later. He wasnt used to a big wake and tried a w2w, on his knees, got like 10 feet of air, and went straight into the water nose-frist, bent the board right in half. This was an 80s board. Mr. Green

I heard that standing on the board underwater and letting the boat pull you is harder then doing it like you would on a wakeboard.

yeah i do that too, just keep the board about a foot or 2 under the water....it might not be the best way to learn how to get up, but its alot less tireing once u get it!!!

johnboy1892, Once you start dragging them around the yard behind a 4 wheeler, they get pretty quick to break once you tak ethem back out on the water.
