| So what is the best year in your opinion ? And why ? Pics of any great looking older 2001 series Nautiques ? I am looking for an older model - mint or possibly a project.

The hull is the same from '82 to '89. The interior changed in '84 or '85. I believe it was '85. The driver's seat and the observer's seat are much more modern and give a more efficient use of space. Also, the dash and gauges are much more modern. In '89, they changed from dual exhaust to single exhaust. Also, they leveled the engine and changed the tranny ratio, I believe.
Saying all that, I believe the '89 is the best year. They will also cost more, though. Although, there are some differences between an '82 and an '89, IMHO, they aren't enough to pass over a good deal on an older model.
What all are you looking for in a project boat?

I would have to agree that the 87-89 is the best year due to the interior!! I saw a 86' (I think) on www.flipsell.com for $$$5,000,thats a great deal!!!

We have a 1982 SN model 2001. The interior isn't nearly as attractive as those pictured here.
But, it's a great running boat and we all have a lot of fun with it. It beats I/O boat we used to own in every category except steering while backing.
