I am a begginer and I had a Hyperlite freedom. I am now looking at a new board and I have no Idea what I am looking for. I know it has to be a 142cm and that is about it. The places online show the board but do not mention the level of the rider. I like this one:

I was just able to land my first w2w this past weekend and one of the bindings broke. When I went to take them out the nut that is on the board came out. The board is an old board that a friend of mine gave me to start. Now I want to buy one for my self. I do not have too much $$$ for it.

Any help will be really apreciated.

Thank you Very Happy

I've been really happy with the service I've gotten at www.buywake.com

Why does your board "have to be a 142"?? Question

Well in the board finder thing after I put all my info it says that I need a 142. I am 5 11 and weight 215lbs. Is this correct? the one that I was riding was 143 and it felt ok.

ccameselle,

At 215 lbs, you probably do want a board in the 140-plus range, but it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be a 142. My board is a 141 and I weigh around 225 lbs.

Free Motion is definitely an entry level board. My first board was a cheap Hydroslide. I bought a Free Motion online thinking it would be a step up. It wasn't. It's a pretty cheap board too. I never even used it. Not to say that it isn't fine for a beginner board, but you will probably outgrow it pretty quickly and want something a little more advanced. I ended up with my CWB Flame which I love and probably won't outgrow for some time.

Also, do you need a board and bindings or just a board? Buywake.com has some pretty killer closeout deals on board/binding packages.

I understand that you're on a budget (most of us are), but you get what you pay for.

ccameselle,

Yes, you definitely need the 140+ range. And like HHI Dave said, the CWB Flame is a good board.
