wut, did you expect them to trash the boards 'cause they're no longer w/ the team? they're still good boards, and as long as they've got "hyperlite" stamped on them, they'll still sell.

Dragonlady8, but we already have a merry christmas!
And they're good boards, why would they get rid of them?

makes no sense to me to keep the premier,3ds,state. all the key players behind these boards have moved on and now have updated the molds. buying one of these boards ls like buying a 3 yr old design what's hyperlite thinking?

whynot, the era is like a 5 year old shape... still rips like a mother, so what? Pro s, even when the pros get a new one, often just get a new name or even a new pro to stamp their name on it. The boards that get shoved out are the even older s that are "low end" s that 8 years ago were a pro ... it happens eventually, but not immediately

d22,
I think the real answer here is that Hyperlite, not the pro, owns the design. The rider will give inputs, but they don't do any of the shaping or "engineering" that goes into the board. A company like Hyperlite invests a lot of money and time to put a board on the market and will sell it as long as they can to get a return on their investment.

and they put their names on it so people buy these boards, just because Harf and Sharpe rides them...
It's a good marketing strategy...

dude the premiere is a sick shape and i think it will be my next board i try, along with the byerly. No need to trash good boards, sure some people buy them cause of the riders names, but many people buy boards cause they like the way they are . I know I am one of latter, are you?

I've tested some boards and choosed mine cause I liked it the most...
But I know some people buy a pro riders board, just because it's a Harpe or Shane or other Pro name on it...
That's why I said: a good marketing strategy, cause it works for a lot of people...
And I'm not saying these boards are not OK either

If they didn't pay me, would I be here!?
actually I've got time to dick around in the morning... as long as the work gets done by the end of the day everything is cool.
