|
|
I'm looking for a wakeboard camp for next summer. It'll probably be me and my friend (he's hella into wakeboarding, as am I.) and we'll pay our own ways. I have two places in Mind:
1) Ride the Spot ($1860 for 5 days, 5 person MAX)
2) World Wakeboard Center ($1070 for one week, $3060 for 3 weeks, 16 student MAX)
It's clear that it'd be harder to get both of us into Ride the Spot together without MONTHS of reservation, becuase of the limited availability.
I'm leaning more towards Ride the Spot because it's Darin Shapiro and it's supposed to be more laid back. But WWC has a bigger slider park and tramps.
Has anyone been to either of these? And what would you recommend? (did I spell that right?)
www.ridethespot.net
www.worldwakeboardcenter.com
so what do ya'll think? |

1. Ride the Spot is hard to get into??? First I've heard of that.
2. I wouldn't pay money to ride with Darin Shapiro.
3. Why World Wakeboard Center?
4. 3 weeks? You and your friend will be 'hella' tired after 1 or 2 weeks
5. I would suggest looking into the projects. |

| ontrider, thx, I needed more suggestions. I SUSPECTED it wuold be hard to get into, hence only 5 people at a time. I would pay money. Why WWC? idk. because that's what google had for me. 3 weeks? it was an example. probably couldn't last more than one or two. I'm gonna gogle the projects this minute. thx. |

| I'd suggest searching this site for "wakeboard camps" there's lots of info and lots of different camps available. |

I too would suggest The Projects, Hands down.
They have excellent instruction. 100% private lakes with butter all day long. Two lake that are dedicate to boat sets and 1 lake dedicate to a rail park which is pulled by PWC's.
Plus their rail park is probably the best of any of the Camps.
You can check out their website at www.theprojectspark.com |

have you looked at TWC yet (the wakeboard camp)? I've been there four times now and have learned so much. i went down my first year knowing hs 180's and ts 1 wake jumps and came back doing 360's ts jumps and backrolls.
since then going down there i learned hs ts 5's all base inverts with spins. and grabbing things.
all coaches are knowledgeable even if they aren't the bigger names. (WWC does that too, at RTS only darin coaches i believe).
they don't have any sliders yet, but a trip to owc is included with your price.
i highly recomend them for pure wakeboarding. while if you want a nightlife, clermont isn't the town for you.
pm me with any questions. |

Robert -
Yes I have been there personally, at the end of July.
Would I go Back? Absolutely, no questions asked. They had excellent coaching from Rob Jacques, Pat Panakos, Keith Lidberg and Ryan Doyle. At least those were the coaches while I was there. The conditions were excellent. The house was nice, the food was excellent (but I'm like a garbage disposal). The lakes were clean and glass all the time.
Depending on the water level they have some really easy rails to hit, and then the performance and relentless slider you see in a lot of the vids.
If you have any other question just ask and I will explain what I can.
Thanks,
Scott |

I'd pay to ride with D-Rock.....
and
I have rode and received some instruction from a few current big name PROs fo free...
Riding aside, he is a nice guy from the few times I was able to talk to him personally.
Disclaimer: I have only met one PRO I would say is a straight out douche bag... He is doing nothing important these days and I would suspect it has to do with the fact people got tired of his I'm tha shizzle attitude.
They should do a VH1 style where are they now VID, it would sell fo sure.... _________________ PEACE

I went to RTS twice for long weekends both times.Neither time did I get to be coached by Darin. He was home, but had "other things" to do.This was when he was with Travis Moye.My experience with Travis was great. If you can get in The Boarding School, try it.I don't think I would pay to go to RTS again. _________________ "We can stand there like the French,or we can do something about it."..Marge Simpson |
