Fiinally got the boat back!

It's been 5 effing weeks of torture, but our boat is finally back, and I got to ride behind it today! I had a pretty good run too, got close on TS 3's and TS backrolls. The boat's been wating at LOL marine for some minor fixes (new stereo face, new pneumatic cylinders on the hatches, and a new wedge) and they didn't do a damn thing the whole time it was sitting there. Finally just got over there and took it back, hopefully can find a malibu shop that actually does work in their service department.

you missed your boat for 5 weeks, and nothing happened?

Have you asked why nothing is been done after 5 weeks?

yeah, and the answer I got from the owner of the shop was "yeah, our service department kinda sucks"

why don't you create a message board with that text ""yeah, our service department kinda sucks" and hang it there..

I amazed that the owner is so laissez-faire about how his service department sucks. If it was my shop I would have said something like "We apologize for the recent problems that you have had with the service department. We have recognized these problems and are taking steps to correct them. As a token of our appreciation for your patience during the transition period, here are a few gas cards." I hope he realizes that post-sales support is what makes or breaks a return customer.

I hope your boat gets fixed soon.

Wow if the story is true - that would have sent me into orbit and anybody in earshot of that dealer would have known about my displeasure Evil or Very Mad

Anymore I have been trying to do as many repairs as possible myself. I have figured out that unless you need a specific expensive tool or it is a huge job, it is just less hassle to do it yourself when you consider the time it takes to haul the boat over to a shop, let it sit, and then haul it back. Also, you can often do a better job - most mechanics won't spend the little extra time to make sure everything is tight and will leave hoses partially tightened, etc.

Doesn't sound like you are missing the wedge too much!

well, we put 4 50 quart coolers in the back of the boat, good for about 400 lbs. It works allright, It just takes up a bunch of seat space
