| I ride at 24. I lose a little wake at that speed but get better pop from harder line tension |

i ride at 22.5 (perfect pass) and have a nice wake at 60 ft of rope. my friend who is much better than me rides 24/25 with a longer rope. he says the longer rope allows him to cut out wider and gain more speed when he cuts into the wake. the increased speed helps that out too, but the wake is not as big as when i go 22.5. he still gets huge air. it seems to be a matter of preference. i'd keep your speed and try to get some more friends to weigh the boat down more. _________________ you have the right to remain silent, so shut the hell up! |

| alright thanks i started this topic because i was wondering about the speeds on doing a backroll and i landed it at 60ft rope length going 22 mph so i think i will keep it this way, should i change it for something like a raley or just leave it the way it is? |

it's all preference. I like the wake being firmer, so I go 24 w/ 80 feet of line, works perfect for me. Any slower, the wake get too wide and lippy @ 80 ft, and I can't stand short lines, cause it pulls me over too much. I can go farther into the flats with 80 feet of line than I can with 70. _________________

I know a guy that was riding 120 feet at 30 mph and still giving the 'up' sign.

jakenj, it's really all your preference. We can sit here and say what our boat speeds and line lengths are all day but it's still up to what you prefer. _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

i like to ride at 22.8 with a 70 foot rope. when i first sped up the boat and put on the longer rope it was kinda weird feeling but once i got used to it it was a lot better and since the wake is smaller me and my dad went out and bought a couple fat sacks (we already have internal balists) so if your wake is too small when you speed it up then you should buy some fat sacks it makes a big difference. _________________ i would rather be snowboarding/wakeboarding/skating/pimpin the ladies |
