honestly not sure... it would im pretty sure to get up it might take a little while to get going and pull you out...the wake probably wouldnt be ideal but you could ride around and have a good time _________________

| Depends a lot on the wake. Post a picture if you want some feedback. If the wake is lousy then you can still learn some basics and do surface tricks as long as the boat can pull you up and hold its speed at 19-24 mph. You don't need as much power to get you out of the water as you do for slalom skiing. You could also try a wakeskate since people don't seem to depend on as big a wake to have fun. The biggest risk is that you get hooked and feel the urge to fork out big $$$ for a wakeboard boat. Good luck |

It would work, but do you have any pics of the wake? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

dont pontoon boats have 2 pontoons, so they'd have like a double wake, kinda? _________________ |X|anadu |

It's been a long time since I've been out on a pontoon boat, but from what I remember the wake is pretty small as far as height is concerned. Since the boat itself is relatively lightweight, and there is a lot of surface area on those pontoons to keep it floating, not much water is displaced. That being said, if all you have is a 90 hp pontoon, then get a board and use the $hit out of it. Wakeboarding is never a bad idea, so use what you've got. _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

RANT: I hate these questions. Here's your answer:
Go get a f'ing rope and a wakeboard, and a life vest (preferably orange b/c you're a noob). Tie the end without the handle to the pontoon boat/jet ski/bass boat/bow rider/i/o/jet boat/airboat and get in the water with your board and vest on. Hold onto opposite end of rope from boat in question (the handled end) and tell your boat driver to "go." If you get up, your boat is good for wakeboarding.
There MAY be boats that are better, but yours is just fine for now. If you want a better boat the cheapest way is to add girls, after that add beer.
Your f'ing welcome! _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |

| you could ride and havefun on any boat. when i was first starting out, all i did was ride behind the boat, not turning or anything, and i had a great time. if you are not doing anything besides surface tricks, carving, or just ridin, the wake is not a factor |

| you can ride behind any boat that has enough grunt so you can stand up. i use a 12ft boat with a 30hp motor and have loads of fun. you can also do some tricks with such a small wake. here is one of me behind my boat. |

Man, there is some terrible advice on this post all the way around. Here's where you're at:
1. You should be able to get up behind a 90hp motor and have enough speed to get to 20mph and start carving
2. You can work on ollie tricks such as ollie 180s and 360s
3. That is about the extent for which a pontoon boat is good for wakeboarding. Don't let a tower fool you. The boat is probably the worst boat design for wakeboarding.
4. There will be zero wake. The 2 pontoons wash out by the time they get to you so it wouldn't even be worth attempting to jump it.
5. Adding weight will do no good. Because of the shape of the pontoons, sitting lower in water will not help the wake and will only slow down the boat.
My advice to you:
If you already have a family pontoon boat get a cheap board and bindings and work on getting up and riding around. Then work on ollying, surface 180s, and ollie 180s. You will get bored with wakeboarding after maximum of a few months without a wake. Once you are done with those try to find rides on other people's boats that actually have wakes or get a boat better suited for wakeboarding. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

A 90 hp engine? I'm pretty sure I could get up behind a 9.9. They wake won't be unacceptably bad either. I can get fine air off a washed up wake with no tower. You will probably get bored but definitely start behind that piece o' stuff before you go buy a supra. _________________

i doubt it. a 14ft with a 9.9 only goes maybe 20mph, without pulling you out of the water. _________________ |X|anadu |

i would trade your pontune in and get a used ski boat...
much funner then puntoon anyways... and still haven enough room for all the people inside and much funner/better for wakeboardering, tubing, wakeskating etc.. |
