Guys

Being a slalom skier for the past 20 years has started to put a real strain on my lower back and this summer i tried wakeboarding for the first time behind a 2000 Malibu VLX and all i can say is that I'M HOOKED!! This is so much more fun and easier on my body. Now i'm looking to purchase a boat in the spring and i have narrowed it down to either the Malibu VLX or the LSV. I think i would rather have the LSV because i think that the size size would be nice and it gives me the option of the big block motor, but i'm not sure about the wake the boat makes. I was curious if any of you guys have been pulled by the LSV and get some of your feedback comparing it to the VLX.

Thanks

you certainly won't be disappointed with the lsv. the vlx will have a slightly (and i stress slightly) bigger wake with just the stock tanks and/or wedge. if you need the storage and room, you really can't go wrong with the lsv. although, the vlx still has plenty of space if you usually have 7 or less people on board. most malibu pros opt for the lsv over the vlx because it has more potential for a massive wake with a lot of added ballast, but i imagine that you're like me and will only be using the stock wake. the stock lsv wake is still amazing, just not quite as large as the vlx. whichever you choose, make sure to get the bow ballast option. it's critical in helping the boat plane and really makes a difference in the wake.

The LSV has a wider wake. Personally I would go with the VLX. There is a lot of room in the VLX.
