So I just started wakeboarding the other day and like 5 days later I still am sore as hell!!! WTF!!! I hurt in places that I never even knew I could hurt!!! Is there anything that I could do before I go out today to make me not hurt as bad!!! I mean damn I hurt! All I have to say though is that it is well worth every second of it!!!

Wakeboarding uses different muscles than your body's used too, stretching might help but face it, you're gonna be sore. Very Happy

You've got to be in shape. If I wasn't in the gym 3 days a week, wakeboarding would kick my ass. I ride about twice a week too.

If you don't exercise regularly I think you will always be stiff and sore after wakeboarding.

Not sure how old or active you are, but both your age and fitness level have a lot to do with this as was already mentioned. I ocassionaly notice some soreness the next day, but as the specific muscles that are used wakeboarding have become more accustomed to the activity, this has become less than an issue.

I have found that stretching before wakeboarding has helped me a great deal. I also found that since I have increased my rowing and lat pulldown exercises , my soreness is minimal, of course the specific exercises that you need to increase might be different depending on which part of your body is sore. I would suggest targeting the muscle groups that are most sore.

the more active you are it definatly takes the soreness a little better. i mean our first trip out i was riding and getting used to my new board and i was trying to flip and stuff and knew i would be sore the next morning but it turned out i was fine but slamming so hard on flips my 2nd or 3rd day i was in killer pain lucky for me i ended up being boat driver for one other rider so it was an easy morning. and i slept alot on our patio boat at day camp and at base camp we would beat ourselves on our dirtbikes and pulling the jeeps out of the mud pit and lake. good times though.

For a beginner, I remembered having to tell myself to STOP when I started feeling it. I'm glad I did, because it put me back in the water more often, and I wasn't as sore the next day(s). If you push yourself 'till you're totally exhausted, and VERY sore for days later, ease up a bit. It also helps me to do some cardio, too, like riding a bike, throughout the week.

I stretch before and (just as importatntly after) I ride. Before each season I start training exercises for a couple of months. After the first few sessions I'm back in shape and I have enough stamina for half hour sets-my driver gets tired before I do. If that fails take ibuprofen

Soreness goes away when you do it a few times. You're using muscles that probably haven't been used much, ever. They're going to be sore for a while. It gets better with time.

Yeah well...you just wait 20 years junior. Then you'll know a thing or two about "aches and pains". Laughing

I just put in 3 days of riding in a row, 3-4 sessions per day. I'm sore as hell today. Laughing
