i ride an Omega 139 with 1.5 center fins. took them off for the 1st time yesterday.
the ride took a little getting use to. but it felt like i was getting more air. any thoughts? board felt really loose at first but it was a cool change up.
made surface tricks a lot easier. |

There are a lot of other threads on this topic....A LOT of other threads. And it always feels more loose because you have less stability. I'm really not sure why you felt like you got more air, did the people in the boat tell you it looked like you got more? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

I think there's .75, 1, and 1.5. There might also be a 2 inch one. _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

You need balance for with fins and without, without fins simply teaches better carving. _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

my guess is that since you didn't have fins on, that forced you to edge better, which forced you to have better form on your jumps...as for surface tricks and the board being looser, that comes with riding finless. _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

U probaly got more air because u can cut harder and build more line tension without fins. |

ugh another fin thread.....................please read the other threads.
as others have said taking them off makes you edge better.. so edging better = more air. |

i dont have a problem doing surface spins...but would it be really easy without fins? i only have 1 1.5" fin on each end, and no molded fins. I've thought about taking them off, but just never got around to it. _________________ |X|anadu |

Xanadu, surface tricks are a nice amount easier without fins. You should try taking them off and see how you like it.
kind, thank you! _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

I think we have it established that he should try the fins off....so can we stop continuing to tell him that? _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |
