I have a 2003 X9 with very tight steering. My question is, is this something I can easily adjust myself or is it something I'll have to have a mechanic handle? Has anyone had any experience with doing the work themselves? |

You probably need to replace the steering cable.
It's pretty simple, buy the new cable from your dealership, or I hear that http://boatfix.com has them for cheaper, and then tie a rope on your old cable, loosen it all up and pull it out. Then use the rope to pull the new steering cable back into place. _________________ wakeboards

Thanks DRAGON88. I just talked to the dealer and that is exactly what they told me if I wanted to do it myself. Otherwise the cable would be $200 plus $200 for labor. I'll give it a shot. |
