|
|
A few weeks ago I did away with my fins just to see if I could learn to edge in the water and do some surface 180s without eating it every time I tried to make a turn. I'm still trying to get a W2W jump down and am getting a bit closer each time. I filmed myself last weekend and I believe I am having just a timing issue with when I stand up on the board.
Anyway, today I found my fins again and thought about possibly putting them back on the board for a run or two just to see what the difference in feel was. Then I noticed something... they are not even the same size!
I don't know how I didn't notice before. What do you experts make of this? If I were to slop them back on my board, which one should go in the back?

| usually, larger fin in the back to help with control and edging. There are web sites that sell fins, so you can buy a pair that matches if you find you are wanting to ride with fins. |

I assumed the larger- is it usual for them to come in different sizes per board? _________________ My other water preference is "frozen". |

I'm assuming the larger was the one you put on the back? That tends to keep it more stable. _________________ It won't be easy, but when I get there it will be one of the most satisfying journeys of my life. |

Yeah it is.
And I only put them back on for a little bit tonight and ripped them back off immediately. They gave me far too much resistance and I hated it.
I will ride finless from now on. _________________ My other water preference is "frozen". |

Hey, I was actually thinking about doing this (on purpose)! I ride goofy-foot, but my wife and son both ride regular. I was thinking about putting a smaller fin on what would be the front of the board for them, so I can switch a little easier. I realize it makes the board handle "imbalanced", but since I feel awkward riding switch, I don't think it'd make any negative difference. Might help hold me up 'till I'm more used to it, too.
The fins I have on my CWB board I feel are just too larger (2.5"). I'm wanting to put on smaller ones, but it might make it too hard for the other riders to ride the board, and I'm not going to spring for three different sets of stuff right now. _________________ -Travis
