I considering buying an older Supra launch but have yet to actually find one in my area. If you have one or have ridden behind one I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to answer some questions.
What is the ski wake like
how does this boat handle, especially in rough water on big lakes
any other info that you would think is pertinant.
thanks in advance |

| Do a search on Supra Launch, many threads have been made on it or mentioned it. |

| I should have specified the direct drive model. Most of the reviews i read were on v-drives |

I have a 1999 DD Supra Launch. Unfortunately I can't help you with the ski wake as I have never skied behind the boat. I have never skied. The boat was made to be a wakeboard boat so it may not serve the skier very well. It does handle OK and can take the chop pretty good compared to some of the other boats I have been in/ driven.
As far as wakeboarding goes, it throws a very good wake. I doubt you can find anyone that has ridden behind a properly weighted launch that can find fault in the wakeboarding wake. It is very firm, no mush or wash, and has a great shape. With over 700 hours the boat is still running strong.
Here is a pic of the wake. Crappy picture but the only one readily at hand.

We have a 2003 (I think) Launch SS. If you get the right speed for the rope length, it has a very clean sharp wake, though it might be a bit narrow. The hydraulic wake plate makes a HUGE difference in the height of the wake.
My dad skis a lot, and only wakeboards once in a while. That and the fact that he bought the boat should tell you a lot about the ski wake. He loves it. Our previous boat was an older Supra Comp and the ski wake is pretty similar behind the launch. I actually tried it once just to show that I could still ski.
I don't seem to have any pictures right now of the wakeboard wake, but I could post back in a day or two. It's pretty similar to the above poster's. |

Bob B, I've ridden behind just about every wake boat out there and I'd take a launch over anything. The original launch is the best direct drive wake boat I've ever ridden. You'll love it _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?
