I ride a '06 Hyperlite State. It has a 1.1 size fin on the bottom. I herd that riding no fins lets u cut harder and get more air. The state has tons of molded fins and a chanal so would it be better off to ride without fins?

umm take them off and try it out you get more control and a better edge but your landings will be harder so you can pick and choose what you want in your board

I also ride a State and recently removed the fins so I'd have an easier time with surface tricks. It was pretty loose at first, but the shape of the board and the molded fins are more than enough to get a great edge. Plus your edging technique will improve dramatically.

I took mine off and never put them back on ever since!!
I find its easier to break the board loose for surface tricks and I also find it easier to land jumps...You can land more on an angle and the board will be more forgiving, rather then the fins catching and making you work harder so that you dont catch an edge..best advice is just to take them off and try..if you like keep them off and if you dont put'em back on!!

So is this concept one to be tested with all boards, or just the State (or similar ones), or just one with center fins? I ride a LF Bonifay and it has for removable fins; all are cupped in shape, and on the edges on nose and tail. Would it be equally benificial for me to remove these fins or not? How would it benifit and how would it hurt? Also, while on the topic of fins, I have yet to try any slides or rails, but I intend to within the next couple of weekends. I was wondering what do yall do in order to prevent board and fin damage?
