With all this recent hype over PJ Marks, I just thought I'd post a little thread saying how much I appreciate learning ollie 180's, etc. from his techniques. That is all. Please chime in if any of you have love for PJ like I do.

Could someone explain the recent "hype" about PJ?

I don't know this guy from a hole in the wall, but I do have one PJ story:

"Back in the day" of early wb history I was living in NY after having lived in S. FL for about a year and I wanted to come down to ride. It seemed at that time that every wb'er knew every other. And every wb'er knew either Darin, Travis, and/or PJ. So, I called PJ's school and he answered the phone. I inquired about going to his camp and then he asked how old I was. I said 28 or something and he said "oh, we don't take campers that old." It was very funny b/c of course we are about the same age.

That's my PJ story, and i've watched his tape something "dirty tricks" 100 times when I was first learning.

for those of you who do not know PJ Marks - he is the owner of the wakeboard camp, and used to be a tour commentator.

I am not sure what this hype is about though......Anyone want to comment on what is happening?

Alright since I am the one who started this thread let me elaborate once again.

I wanted to have a tribute thread for PJ because he is a really underrated rider and doesn't get enough attention. Is that too much to ask? Is that a crime? Am I doing something wrong here? Christ. Rolling Eyes

Well maybe the word tribute means:

tribute/[trib-yoot]
–noun
1. a gift, testimonial, compliment, or the like, given as due or in acknowledgment of gratitude or esteem.

And besides, we all know he didn't die...

My first instructional vid was Higher Education and PJ's SUAVE style of riding has been very inspiring to my current riding style & which I'm still working on.

jumalian, Are you serious, who owns the camp now?

jumalian, yeah - who owns it now - Last I knew he and Kyle Schmidt were on a joint venture with the camp, but he was the owner of it.
