Do any of you guys/ladies have one of these? My wife and I are considering getting one in a couple of years. We want to travel and camp at/near lakes and of course, take our boat with us. The goal will be to ride on as many lakes as possible.

I have a friend that has one and it is great. He could not be happier with it for whatever that is worth. He has a '04 3/4 ton Dodge diesel with bags and tows a 22' Four Winns.

They have light weight pop up ones if you are concerned about weigt. I have a Ram 1500, so when I was looking, I'd have to go that route. The can get heavey, and that before you fill up the water. But they are cool.

If you are really worried about weight you could just use a tent!!!

I'm not a camper, RV type of guy, me like the hard ground and a camp fire...

by the time you add in the gas and monthy payment + hookups - it is really just as cheap and much easier to simply rent a cabin on the lake - or it is in Texas, Arkansas, & Louisiana

no mess to clean

If AC isn't a problem it is simple to tent as well - with an air matress of course

IMO they are overpriced for what you get. Especially the one E.J., posted. That one is pushing $28K+. Not to mention they are REALLY Heavy, 3200#'s dry. Shocked Even with a 1 ton that is a lot of weight.

E.J. - that one is VERY nice. I agree with the above comments, its as cheap to rent a cabin in many places, but a lot of times you have to decide several months in advance, not to mention we take our dogs everywhere and a lot of places are not dog friendly, or charge extra. Tent camping is ok, but we want something more secure, especially if we leave the dogs in the camper. Plus, its nice to have a bed, mini kitchen and even a little bathroom - you can basically make it a miniature version of your home. We would at some point, like to take an extended vacation (3-4 weeks) and visit many states/lakes.
