anyone seen this flick? I saw it about a week ago and I have to admit it is one of very few movies that actually had me scared. And it is kind of spooky cause even though its not true, its not a huge stretch of the imagination.

Really? I figured it was going to be another flop like "The cave" I wanted to gouge my eyes out after watching that movie.

It was released last year in the UK, I saw it then... I loved it... my boyfriend at the time thought I dragged him to see a chick flick and so fell asleep... but woke up with a bit of a jump when the first of those creatures screamed... I was so happy when they decided to release it over here! Very Happy

Saw it the weekend it came out, definitely one of the better Horror Flicks I have seen in years.

It was pretty intense and I highly recommend seeing this movie in the theatre for the full effect!!!!!

I heard a few other people mention "The Cave"...I saw that this past weekend on Showtime.....what a pile of crap...Trust me, you can't compare that pile of garbage to this movie.

FYI: The UK Ending is different from the US version in that it extends for another 2 minutes after the final car sequence.....not sure why they decided to cut the US version????......the US ending seemed far too typical Hollywood to simply leave such a great flick ending in such a stereotypical fashion......

Check out the UK ending it is much better and darker:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wP7zx8ecqY

ENDING SPOILER DISCUSSION:

On the UK version:
Since she wasn't taking her medication, she has the final hallucination of her dead daughter and the birthday cake (aka: going to see her again here shortly thanks to the creatures)....also subliminally..there are 6 candles on the cake...one for each of her friends = finally blowing out all the candles = everyone dies = going to see the dead daughter in the afterlife.

Also one thing I noticed..people didn't understand why she shanked the Asian chick in the leg just because of the accident with the other girl....the Asian chick was sleeping with the husband...so that was the main motive there....though I am sure you all caught that.

marcg, what?! I can't believe they cut out the ending!!! I bet the US version they left all happy, before that one last final twist... (for those of you who haven't seen it, don't read this next sentence) Where did they cut it off, when she gets back to the car?? Stupid...

I've got the UK version on DVD though, so I'm set... I'll still go watch the US one though, at some point

SPOILER DISCUSSION:

The US version just stops right at the point after she pukes and then looks over & sees the hallucination of Juno in the passenger seat and starts screaming.....so basically right at 00:14 of that clip above it stops and it cuts to the the black & white photo of them on the porch, then the credits roll.

Pretty lame...I don't know what they were thinking....maybe the movie studio thought the UK version with the extra 2 minutes & imagery with the daughter and the birthday cake was too cryptic of an ending ?????

This is conflicting to what I have heard from my freinds. They all said it was the worst movie in the world and not to even waste my money on it. Confused I guess I will just have to take your advice and see it anyways.

this movie was easily the scariest movie i have ever seen. i was basically nervous the whole way through and when the movie was over i was all fidgety and paranoid. i applaud the makers of this film.

i liked the movie a lot, one of the scarriest movies i've seen, very gory.

SPOILER

It was so random when she hit juno with the pick axe. it made me laugh.

those creatures in the movie are so gross, the part where the chick got eaten alive was disgusting.

Good movie. I saw it this weekend. Keeps you tense the whole time. I also liked that it was not too long, IMO movies do not need to be over 2 hours; that's crazy. Anyway...good movie...better then most; go see it.

SPOIL DISCUSSION:

I did not realize till now that she spiked that girl in the end due to her sleeping with her husband, I thought she did it b/c she left the other girl to die, so the survivor left juno to die too. No? Or both? I did catch that juno slept with the hubbie during the movie, just did not put it together for that scene.

wooo!! I finally found someone to go see this movie with! All my friends (except one, apparantly) hate scary movies (chickens!). Think I mentioned this before, but I saw it last year in the UK and I'm curious about how the new ending it's got.
