Looks to me like you arnt popping enough, just kinda throwin it as hard as you can which is why you don't have enough time to rotate before you slap the water. Stand/pop a little more perhaps. Nice tries though, are these your first attempts?

You are throwing the trick way too early. Think about edging up the wake and then AT THE TOP OF THE WAKE throw your board up and away from the boat and look over your left shoulder. Good luck!

Yeah, your approach should be the same as any "big air" trick up until you have popped. Wait for the pop, then throw it as hard as you want to.

No expert myself, I'm about where you are on them I just have different issues (letting go with back hand). But to me it looks pretty obvious you are flattening out considereably before the wake. Edging very hard to inititate your turn then really let off before the wake and getting no pop. Your rotation actually looks pretty solid but you just aren't getting enough air to finish the trick.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass but it helps to clear the wake. When I was learning back rolls I took the biggest hardest cut I could take and land out in the flats. The landing is rougher but it gives you plenty of time for the spin and to spot your landing

also you're extending your legs way to late, you're hitting the wake with you're legs still bent at almost a 90 degree angle, which is giving you no pop and no spin. If you jump normal the wake will pretty much start the rotation for you.

You do more a tantrum approach (flatening at the wake) because you edge very hard and then cannot hold this edge through the wake
take a shorter approach and cut very hard just at the end, this gives more pop and more rotation but less speed and therefore less pain

OK, they are all being nice to you so I will not....

IMO - you don't have the skills to even be tryn the trick.. I can tell just by the way you cut out away from the wake.
Why is the handle all up near your face and why do you insist on cutting out so far and hard for a HS Backroll.

You should be out about 10 feet or half the distance you normally go out for a hs W2W jump, nothing more.

And YES, you are leaving super early and not standing tall.

Stop squatting down on your approach, do that for spins and stuff but for inverts it's better to take style out of the equation and approach the wake using proper form so you leave the wake in proper form. You don't want to be making all sorts of adjustments at the wake, leave that for the Pro's.

yea i know i really flatten out really before i hit the wake so i dont get the the nesscessary rotation and pop. JDOGG, yea i dont know what the hell i was thinking, usually i dont go WAY out there and hold the rope up to my chin. i did that cause i thought if i got the speed, it could help me with the rotation. and the rope thing,.....was just wierd.

I guess for now it is, go make another video and post it up. To sum up everyones comments, just remember to standtall/pop and don't flatten off your cut at the end.
Good luck!

i would try shortening ur rope up because u are no where near clearing the wake and if u can clear the wake it will be easier to land the trick

the pop on the back roll is a little tricky at first...I landed my 3rd attempt but my first few landings weren't very high also...something that helped me was to not hit the wake so hard, but to speed up the boat and focus on slowing the rotation down.

No, that's not right. You want to build up some tension on the tail of the board as you're coming up the wake so that when you release off the top it recoils you around.

if you get enough pop you shouldnt be sliding out because you should be able to finish the rotation before you hit the water
thus not giving you that hit and slide feeling
