| ok so i bought that verizon chocolate last week and decided tonight to try to put some songs on it. I bought the card that fits in the phone and can plug into the larger memory card that will fit into my computer. every time i go to put a song onto the memory card it gives me an error message saying the disk is write-protected and i need to remove the write protection or choose another disk...i have tried 100 songs and every damn one wont let me put it on. has anybody ever had this problem or would know how to correct it? |

| There should be a very tiny switch on the side of your card, which is the write protection switch. Turn that off. |

You're probably going to encounter another problem. Verizon locks out the mp3 players on their phones. I've got the vx8300 which required a very simple hack to enable mp3 on the phone. Then you need to create a folder on the memory card called 'my_mp3s' for it to work.
For me to unlock the mp3 feature:
Menu
press 0
enter service code of '000000'
select 'music settings'
enable mp3
It may be different for your phone, you may have to do a search for unlocking mp3 features on chocolate. I would think it would be very similar since it's technically the vx8500. |

i have the vx9800 phone and have found all the help i needed on this website. www.howardforums.com and then click on the forum that applies. I can get 100s of mp3s on my memory card and then turn each individual one into a ringtone if i want to.
and dirtysparks had it right, you have to go into the secret menu and enable the mp3. check out the howard forums. |
