OK, Im hooked. Im up and riding switch (forward change only as of Aug 15) with minimal probs in and out of wake heel and toe side. been playing with carving and cutting, trying to get comfy and establish my weight over board. catch the front edge and bite it at times. love it, get back up. cant get enough, ride till my fingers wont grip anymore!

So now I would love a list of things to practice on my way out of beginnerhood and into novice status. Teaching my self right now, no tower on my boat but do have a friend with a better equipt boat to practice on when needed.

What are the next steps, what should I be practicing? not familiar with all the wakeboard jargon but ready to learn and aquire the foundational skills needed to be a better boarder.

15 years previous ski experience, so experts what do you think? got a
"to do" list for me? My thanks in advance.

Found a great beginner trick list on the site after searching a bit, guess that will get me started. In your opionion, is a tower an essential part of the experience as a beginner or can I do surface tricks till Im out on a fully rigged boat. Any chance for air on a ski boat?

you should do the surface tricks (surface 180's, lipslides, etc.) to get started. then if u feel comfortable than u can start doing bunny hops and one wake jumps. and to answer ur question about the tower and the ski boat, really you dont need a tower and yes you can get air on a ski boat.

A tower is not needed to wakeboard. You can get air and do advance tricks behind any boat really besides a jetski and some others without a big wake or tower its all about your form and technique.
