For those who haven't seen it go out and rent it. Good movie.
I thought the topic was great and very applicable with the issues going on right now. Too much government control is a scary thing and something we should keep in our minds. What worries me is I think a lot of people see this as an almost 1 to 1 relationship with Bush and that he actually planned the attacks on the US. And while the actors never said it in the "filming of" you can tell it was an underlying thought. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

I thoguht the movie was great. If you want to draw the correlation between today's events and the movie it wouldn't be that large of a leap. When I watched it I thought it was more 1984ish than anything else.
I thoguht it was very thought provoking. It is the new matrix. |

Another vote for this movie, I was bit hesitant to rent it and didn't know what to expect, but it was very captivating. I like movies with different plots like this, plus Natalie Portman is in it!! _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |

Actually, they said they wrote the script in the 80s, before the Matrix so that makes a lot of sense. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

I rented it a week or so ago. I thought it was pretty damn good and very pertinent to the times we live in.
But, then again, I also found last nights South Park episode very pertinent. (it was the one where Cartman had the satelite for Aliens in his ass and Earth was a reality TV show) _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

| I believe I heard somewhere that the actual story was a hollywood reinvention of actual of the story of an actual terrorist in England some time ago. Pertinent or not, I just couldn't get into it. It seemed like they went a awful long way towards justifying a terrorists acts of murder and blowing up government buildings. Oklahoma City isn't that far in the past for me to not have seen some similarities. I'm sure McVeigh felt pretty justified too. |

NAW,
Yeah i thought it was awesome. I went and saw it in the theatre. I thought it was better in the theatre rather than when i watched it again at home a couple days back. Yet i had already seen it so knew what to expect... |

Yeah but who was able to guess it was V doing the torture/mind F U C K on Evey????
As soon as he grabbed her outside of the house I knew (thought) it was him but as it played out I was second guessing myself...
Why would V, who clearly has fallen in love with Evey do such a thing to her, sure enough when the door was left open and he said you are free to go cuz you do not fear death. I knew for sure.
His opening monologue was great, well crafted and very related to the 5th of Nov saying in the movie...
The monologue used at the station take over was also well crafted...
"People should not fear their government, the government should fear it's people."
Read up about it on the Internet Movie Database and then watch it again.
A political thought provoker for sure.
Great movie!!!
Not related but next on my list is Donnie Darko, I hear this is another thinker...... _________________ PEACE

I thought V's opening monologue with Evey was one of the best parts. Somebody thought long and hard about that!
I see what lowdrag is saying though. With the word terrorist being shuffled around so much and used for so many different groups of people, you almost have to consider V a terrorist.
One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.
I just thought the whole movie was extremely thought provoking and one that I found myself pondering for some time afterwards. _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

Now you guys have me thinking about how great that movie was again....
great stuff....
Who are you?
Who? Who is but the form following the function of what, and what I am is a man in a mask.
Well I can see that.
Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. _________________ PEACE

I just watched this movie and I must agree that it was amazing. Granted, it can be looked at in many different lights, but it was nothing short of amazing.
I want one of those masks. The way that everyone comes together in the end to put a stop to the fist pounding, lying government was quite refreshing.
I'm sure that CNN and the like are full of bs just like the way that they portray the British government. I've never believed in our government and feel fullly that we are fighting one mans war.
