Yall, Help me. Please. I'm trying to figure out which technical school is the best for diesel technitians to got to. The internet is so full of crap it's kinda hard to sort through it all. If anyone here is a diesel tech. or knows one, or owns a buisness that can help me, any advice is greatly appriciated. The school in Montgomery isn't very good. I'm sick of having jobs... I desperatly want a career. Preferably working on or with Fishing yachts... anything on or near the water will do... know what i mean? Anyways thanks for your time......

Cool Idea Bama1. I would LOVE to be a diesel mechanic working on spotsfishing yachts. Most of the good ones make about $40-50/hr and and they usually have overtime to work if they want it. As for a school, I am not sure, but boatdiesel.com is probably a good place to ask...

I rebuilt both diesels in my boat last year and I really enjoyed doing it. If my cube job pays off (stuck staying b/c of stock options), I might go to school for the same Cool

Here is a pic of one I did:

It took me about 3 months to do both of them (after wk and on weekends). It would have been faster, but I sandblasted each part and then powdercoated them to better handle the saltwater environment. When I pulled them out they were very rusty, now you can eat off of them. Powdercoating rocks!

There are schools for Marine engines and service work. I don't know any off hand. But they are out there. Just keep searching. Be prepared to move.

I was going to mention the one that ckligor did. I don't know much about it, but heard it was expensive.
