| Buy an older nautique, they have a great wake and aren't too expensive if you look around for a while.

| Get an 84+ Nautique 2001. I have an 88. You can easily get one for less than $10,000. the're awesome boats and weighted properly will throw as good of wakes as any pro boat out there!

| ok, but the thing is that i live in quebec and that nautiques are pretty rare in here. i've found only one and it was 39 000 $ (canadian, but still expensive for a canadian! ). I'd need some models of balyners and thing like that that can produce a good wake

Dude, just about any boat weighted right will give a good wake. I/O's work fine. You need to work on your technique anyway if you are new to the sport. A huge wake can be a crutch for poor technique. Good Luck!

| Look at a Moomba Mobius, if you look at a used one, I think they changed the hull in 2001

wkbrd, you gotta give us a price range(i.e. 10-15k)!!! I would really stray away from i/o's. If you plan on boarding on a regular basis, you will out grow there wake's skill wise. Hope this helps!!

I got a '94 prostar for $25K and it throws a sick wake when weighted. Any old ski boat weighted properly will throw a sick wake, MC, Nauty, Malibu.

I think I've seen an '89 Sport Nautique for around that price. That would be your best buy. However, I don't know what boats bring in your area. You should be able to find older Nautiques (like the 2001 series), older MC Prostar 190s or maybe 205s, or Supra Sunsports. All of those are supposed to be good boats. I've only had personally experience with the Nautiques and the MCs, though. Try boattraderonline.com or flipsell.com.
I know this, after having an inboard, I will never have an i/o!!!

| I live in bc and know what you mean about the unavailibility and expense of a inboard in can.I have a 22' i/o that throws a great wake and I scored it for around 10k can.Any i/o around 20' should work great just look at the hull shape and get one with a v8.

| We got a 1990 Sport Nautique for around 11k. With everything we're putting into it we'll probably be into it 13-14k though. Mechanically it's perfect, exterior is a little rough. It came with tower and all.

Got a 1990 bayliner 4.3 IO with tune-up, prop, and soon, a tower. I will be under 6000 total. It's in nice shape, but, it's a Bayliner...
Rode a 96 Brendella (inboard) that threw-up a wicked wake with sacks, and it only cost $6500.

| The v6 will have the same shape of wake it just won't be able to take as much weight.Seen pics of wakes with v6 that looked fine though. As far as hull shape look for something fairly flat with not too deep of v.The wake in that pic looked good how much weight?

| Sounds like a good price if it's in decent shape.Make sure the leg is in good shape or recently rebuilt as they are expensive to fix/replace.
