Im really new to wakeboarding, and the first time I went out we went slow and steady but the rope kept comming out of my hands, then we tried flooring it and I did a little better but I kept falling, so do you floor it or go slow and a steady increase?

Don't floor it but get a good steady pull to get you up and riding. When you start, let the boat's pull sort of compress you so your butt is pulled to your feet, your arms are out over the board, let the board sort of roll forward a bit so it starts to plain, don't stand up too quickly or you will sink the board/make the front edge dig in and you'll be pulled on your face.

Once you get better you'll be able to "adjust" to whether someone floors it or pulls you up slowly

so get the rope tight, then go a little bit faster, have your arms extended, knees bent, and you will just pop up, then turn and go

The rope coming out of your hands has almost nothing to do with the boat. I am well known in these parts as an expert instructor for beginners to get up. That's it though! Anyway...

The rope is coming out of your hands probably b/c you are bending your elbows when the boat is pulling you up and out of the water. Proper form when getting up is NOT to do two things: Pull with your arms and push down with your legs/get up too fast. Keep your arms fully straight when getting up. THis will cause the pull to come from your shoulders/back. IFF you pull in with your arms or they are bent when you get up as a beginner this creates a weak link between the boat/rope and you. Now you are fighting to keep your arms bent and from going straight when getting up which puts tons more pressure on your hands. Your hands give out before your elbows. Keep arms straight and I think your problem will be solved. This tip is esp. helpful for chicks. You can also do over/under slalom grip when getting up, but that is super gay and there is no reason for it. Let the boat pull you up with straight arms.

No, legs should be bent with knees basically up to your chest as much as possible. Knees inside arms. Don't move until you get up on top of the water, if anything while getting up you can tuck you ankles towards your arse. Once more or less up theoretically the boards should point itself towards the boat b/c of the fins, if not bring handle to your front hip and all will be good. Patience, straight arms, and bent legs will get almost everyone up on the first or second try.

You can do a search for all sorts of tips on getting up, etc. I just wanted to solve your rope snapping out of your hands issue. Have fun.
