Rope/Handle Question I've Searched

Ok first of all i've searched all on google and this forum and i cannot find my answer. Im a total newbie and i just got a new 70ft rope and a handle. i cut 5 feet off so im at 65+5 with the handle which equals 70ft. Now my question is.... how do i tie the rope to the handle..... what specific ties/knots do you to do make a secure knot..... help please i want to get out there Smile

A bowline knot will work wonders, it will hold strong, and never be too tight to undo.

i would say if you cut the rope with knife or other tool the i would tie it back together with a fishermans knot, what kind of rope did you buy and did you cut it or did you just take out the section?
