I am going out this weekend to try to wakeboard for the first time in many years. The last time I tried was when they first came out, called skurfing..

So what's next??

Well I tried wakeboarding on Sunday. To my surprise, I got up with now problems. First time and every time after that. I am able to cut outside the wake and back, but at some point the board gets squirrelly and slips out from underneath me.

Any help on how to stay on the edges?

I completed one jump, about 6 inches...

Also, I was cutting outside the wake heel side and let up to cut back the other way and caught the front edge. Face plant.. No pain, lots of laughs..

Bottom line, love wakeboarding, hate that I suck right now..

Also, the wife tried and popped up on her first time, got scared and dropped. But she is a fan as well.

I would highly recommend picking up The Book, Building a Foundation. Top notch edging drills that will take care of the squirrel. As well as many other good lessons/drills.

Have fun!

get The Book, and for the squirreliness, just keep trying, build your board balance and eventually you will overcome it

Start reading as much as possible on this site, EVERTHING you need to know has been covered ad nauseum on here. Do a search, go to trick tips, buy an instructional video.

I just won the entire box set of "The Book" on ebay for $59.00. So now it's time to go to school..

The goal is a HS flip in 30 days... Twisted Evil Shocked

That's one helluva goal! I started wakeboarding in June (about the same time I joined this site). I'm jumping W2W, I've got surface 180's down pretty good (regular and switch) and I almost landed a W2W FS 180 the other day. If you can hit inverts within 30 days you'll probably need to start looking for some sponsors pretty soon. Laughing

Good luck and keep us posted. Cool
