Hitting a wake at 45...

How do you do it? i rode an old absolute and i could get tons of pop at a 45 degrees, now that i got my new board without a center fin i almost hit the wake at 90 because at 45 i roll right over the wake. I know theres a lot of topics on how to get more pop but i think i'm getting a good amount but i want to know how to make it so i get the same amount at the 45 degrees everyone else goes at. and what is the difference between hitting the wake at 90 vs 45?

actually try to hit it at more of a 60

ok thanks, i keep reading im supposed to hit the wake at 45 and my friend keeps tellin me that the way i hit the wake is wrong. i hit it around 70 or 80 i cant really tell. i guess its whatever fits the best.
