so i guess i'm a slower learner than most because it took me almost 2 months to finally get a backroll when i keep reading about people that got it their second time out or third or whatever...but now that i finally landed one (and hopefully more will follow) i was wondering if there is anything i can do to "fine tune" them...what am i doing wrong that could be improved to make it easier? i would really like to get this down this summer so i can feel good about it:-P so any tips at all would be helpful.

sorry about the dumb editing and stuff...it was my second time messing with video editing too so it's lame...some i know that i just don't commit to the trick...it's a 4 minute video and the one i land is at the very end...even that one isn't clean so any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Lol, but it was worth every minute. Crash after crash after crash.
Mainman773, not bad except:
1.) Pop before you throw it.
2.) Look over your left shoulder to spot your landing. |

alright thanks...yeah some of them i went into half-heartedly and or backed off and that was a bad idea...it took me a while to figure out that it usually hurts a lot less if you just go for it...usually
and CaM2816 yeah eventually i finally landed one...that's at the end of the video |

| that video reminded me of a commercial with a little pink rabbit that just kept going and going and going... it was great. good job. I am still working on this my problem is I always let go with my back hand so it flattens me out and I crash. This video gives me hope to just keep trying. |

First reaction to your vid: Ouch, ouch ouch....
Any bruises yet?
Second reaction: I'm goin out tomorrow to try another TS Frontroll, for about the 20th time. I usually land on my butt (and have bruises to show) but have hit the water with the board first. How many times do you try before giving up? |

DadKid, don't give up lol.. Just keep going. If you get too frustrated, take a break or learn another trick, but never give it up.
Mainman773, awsome video dog. It is worth the four minutes.
Some tips would be to..
-Cut out a little farther, it will give you more time.
-when you flattten your board, remember to keep the rope loaded.
-When you land, keep the rope a little lower, might help a bit.
Congratz on landing it man, awsome video. are you happy you didn't give up after the two months? _________________

DadKid any bruises? of course...my butt has been bruised all summer, pretty sure i pulled both hip flexors cuz i can't swing my legs to get into a car and the water is my new chiropractor for my kneck ...i've gotten 5 or 6 concussions (not serious but just enough to make me dizzy and not know where i am for a bit)
i would guess that i attempted it...at least 100 times...probably more though so don't give up after 20...that's just the start:) when i did finally get it i think the whole city heard me yelling cuz i was so excited
thanks Marshall_Series i'll try those things
any suggestions for keeping the board under me? that's a big problem-i usually land with it out in front of me then just fall back...would keeping the rope lower help with that? |

Never give up... I like that attitude. I'll bre tryin' till the season ends (sorry to even have to say that word but it ends way too soon in the North).
Mainman773, A bruised butt makes for a good battle scars but you might want to think about a brain bucket if your rattlin your squash that many times. I know this might bring up the helmet debate but since I've put on a lid I've been way more aggressive and my crashes have more entertainment value; and I think I've been putting my brain at less risk. Awesome work on the vid |
