yeah backrolls kinda suck. last time i went wake boarding i tried about 15 backrolls but i cant land it i always do the same thing i get most of the rotation but i barely dont clear the wake and i do a nose dive. I take the same edge that i would take on a normal wake jump and i go about 15-20 feet out i could take a way stronger edge cuz i can go way out in to the flats. i pull the rope into my chest and i dont really have to throw the rotation hard i just look with my head. should i take a stronger edge? what am i doing wrong?

Wait for the pop then throw it. At first it always feels like you are waiting way too long. Takes some getting used to.

I'm in the same place. I get about 3/4 - 7/8 around and bust. Always landing into/on top of the second wake. Never clear of it. On normal jumps, I can land way out in the flats.

When I wait for the pop, it feels like I don't have the leverage to start the spin. I usually go up and end up facing sorta backwards. I don't even get 1/2 way around. For me, I think it's just a matter of the stars aligning. I think when I wait for the pop, I don't lead with my front foot away from the boat. You know, how you sorta edge at around 90 right at the crest instead of more like 70 or 80 deg. Relative to the boat path...
