|
|
I just got back from a summer camp. My friends and I usually just tubed there and everyonce in a while skied. This year a leader brought up some boards and held a little clinic. He told us how to board, and took us out to try. I got up pretty quick and made it halfway around the lake before hitting wake from another boat and falling.
I did the board finder and came up with these boards for me:
Liquid Force 2006 Omega 139 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Omega 143 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 PS3 137 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Stance 138 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Stance 142 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Substance 142 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Team 139 Wakeboard
Liquid Force 2006 Watson 142 Wakeboard
Hyperlite 2006 3DS 139 L7 Wakeboard
Hyperlite 2006 Drive 139 L7 Wakeboard
Hyperlite 2006 Motive 140 Biolite Wakeboard
Hyperlite 2006 Premier 141 L7 Wakeboard
Hyperlite 2006 State 140 Biolite Wakeboard
Next I checked for only abrupt pop boards, because I'd be more interested in getting huge air than anything else. The only board that came up was the Liquid Force 2006 Substance 142 Wakeboard. I read it over, and it seems like it might be too advanced of a board for me? Any opinions?
Do they come with decent bindings or any at all? I figured I might have to buy those seperate anyways to get something good. What are good bindings?
I figure I can find any of these for pretty cheep on eBay anyways, so I could probably get some good stuff for cheap. |

| By the way, I don't plan on going professional or anything. I just want to hit the lake with some friends and show off nice moves and stuff like that. |

Hyperlite 2006 Motive 140 Biolite Wakeboard
I've just started wakeboardin. Been for about a month. A lot of my friends are sponsored by liquid metal and hyperlite. I asked them to when I got my first board. And they said that the Hyperlite 2006 Motive 140 Biolite Wakeboard was a good one to get and start. Its not the one i got but its nice.
I got a hypelite state 135. 06 . Try it out just remember if you got bug feet like me make sure u get BIG bindings. L-XXL is the best. But bindingds are the most important. _________________ 06 Hyperlite State

Right now I'm 5'11" 160LB. But I'm sure by next summer I'll be around 170. I want to get a good board and bindings and hopefully will find a good deal somewhere. Maybe get an 05' or 04' model. Should be a bit cheaper.
What are a good pair of bindings I can get? |

From what I understand so far, there are two types of boards. There are fast boards with smooth pop that will shoot you out into the flats such as the Motive 140 and the Liquid Force Team.
Then there are slower boards designed for agressive pop that will get you really high but not as far like the Liquid Force Watson and the L.F. Substance.
And for beginners it's better to get boards with a smooth pop and good turning, etc. like the Motive. Am I right in assuming that? |

From my understanding you are correct. When getting your first wakeboard remember to get a large board. this makes it easier to wakeboard because you have more surface area on the water(physics). The bindings i have are liquid force. But it was a custom board. when you buy a board, buy a package it is not only cheaper but more helpful in that you will not have to look for bindings too but thats just what i would do. Judging by your hieght and wieght ur feet arent too big so bindings should not be a problem for you. And as for where to buy you could check craigs list or somethin like that. for a used board its still good quality if you buy a brand name but a little older and i think thats what you want. Im in san diego and bought it at a place called wakesports unlimited. but some sportsmart and sports authorty have boards on sale like liquid force and hyperlite. i got mine for around 300ish but sportsmart had some for 220ish for a hyperlite. also for ur bindings get some goo or i forgot wat its called but it helps ur feet fit in the bindings. Important in case you didnt know if your feet dont fit in when theyre dry dont worry it fits in ALOT easier when they are wet. a mistake i made when i started. _________________ 06 Hyperlite State

| I'm sorf of leaning toward the L.F. Omega 139. It comes in a package with bindings on boardstop.com for around $360. |
