I've seen video of cable park stuff, guys are getting big air, without a wake at all. I realise that the end of the rope being 20 feet up has alot to do with that, but It also looks like they load the heck out of the line, cut hard, then just pop out of the water. Can this be done behind the boat. Can you get air with mere line loading and cutting. And I don't mean olling. If so, how much air have you gotten? I'm wondering if it's possible to jump the wake, with out ever hitting it.

"Air" tricks are when you don't actually hit the wake to launch... They can/have been done, but yeah, look quite tough...

air tantrums are called bell-airs, and there are a lot of other air stuff that people can do. People have stopped doing them though. Air tricks were big when the wakes were still small, and you could get as much air doing an air trick than you can doing a w2w trick. And Darin, I don't think it's possible to actually jump the wake like that, it has to be outside of the wake to get that much line tension.

I'm surprised to hear that people have stopped doing air tricks. I think a bel-air looks extremely sharp and I can only dream of doing one. But it would be really handy to have in the bag for the times I get a pull from a small-waked boat.

Shaun Murray teaches you how to do them in Detention, and they do them in retrospect when they show footage of really old competitions.
