I was on the lake last weekend and i was edging in heelside... as i approached the wake the nose of my board went into the wake instead of on top. I did a pretty hard faceplant. It's never happened before but I'm just wondering why so it doesn't happen again. |

Here are some possibilities - take your pick as to which is the most likely for your situation.
1. too little rocker - too big and steep of a wake
2. too much weight on front foot
3. looked down at wake as you approached it
4. tried to impress peeps in the other boat and bad things just happen when you try too hard. |

This happened to me and my friend a couple weekends ago. Im not really sure why it happened either i was just cutting into the wake and out for a carve and the nose just sunk in. It was weird but it was the first and only time it happened. Dont worry about it. _________________ 93 four winns

Of the reasons that bmartin listed, I would guess it was probably too much weight on the front foot. I've never had that happen to me going up the wake, but I did bury the nose of my board while doing ollies out in the flats, and I attributed it to too much weight on the nose of the board. Of course, you were there and I wasn't, so like bmartin said, take your pick for your situation...
