Ok guys, I'm getting frustrated here. I've been wakeboarding for about 3 years but with the lack of having my own boat I still suck. I have no problem controlling the board while on the water but once I cut and hit the wake I'm pretty much scewed. Everytime I hit the wake my board goes out from under me. Sometimes I can land alright but most of the time I bust. Any info would be great.

Josh

Make sure your weight is balanced between both feet as you hit the wake dont put all your weight on your back foot when jumping, thats my guess of what your doing.

Would having a non-stretch rope make any difference?

probably not but maybe when you gut in the wake keep the rope in tight at your hips and lean back a little bit more

If you're losing control in the air, just pull the rope towards your front hip, which is about where you center of gravity is. The reason you get off axis and thrown out of control is because the rope is actually pulling you out of whack. You also want to be balanced between both of your feet upon leaving the wake.

a non stretch rope would help. It helped me. Also you are probably leaning way to far back when your cutting in. I know someone who does this and falls everytime she gets air.

Keep your weight evenly distributed on each foot
Keep the rope down at about your waiste
Don't try and ollie off the wake, you will get higher than you want to when you get it
Keep your back straight
Tighten your abs to help keep your back straight
Don't be too stiff

PS: Study the Trick Tips on Progressive Edging. (http://www.wakeboarder.com/display.phtml?a=50)
Good luck and I hope I didn't confuse you.
