I think I ride too much on my right foot (rear) creating more drag..
I just seen some video of good rider and I could see some big slack in the rope tension as they carve and switch edge.
I can cross the wake toeside and heelside no problem and started to do surface 180 , still need practice riding switch but my snowboard experience help me alot.
How can the wake get enough speed to loose the cable tension? BTW, My father boat dont have a tower.
(I weight 185/190 lbs and ride a Hyperlite state 140) |

you dont want the line to have slack. the line tension is what gives you pop off the wake. the reason you get slack when you begin your cut back into the wake is that your cutting back at less of an angle than 90 degrees.. so there for there is some slack but as you build your edge progressivly you begin to take up the slack and load the line so you get maximum pop off the wake _________________ woahhhh |

I will try to switch edge faster and cross the wake more/less sharply this weekend to see how it goes...
Thanks for the reply |

just to reiterate what c0mp|ex said, slack is not a good thing...it's not something you should be trying to accomplish while boarding. In my experience, you will generate slack in the line with certain tricks, and certain movements, but that's always just a by-product. Whenever I notice I've generated too much slack, I immediately start edging to pull on the rope and get that slack out of there.
Anyway, focus on other stuff. I wouldn't get too caught up in what your line is doing...certainly not as a measure of how good you are doing... |
