I have been riding for a while now, but still consider myself a beginner at this point. I have been working on my progressive edge but I just cant seem to get it just right.

I have noticed two things. First, I have a hard time keeping the rope close to my leading hip as I hit the wake to pull it down and get a good pop. Am I cutting to hard that I am being pulled to hard to keep the handle close?

Second, my rear or trailing foot tends to stay lower in the air than my lead foot. I other words I am not level in flight. I have tried to put more weight on my lead foot in order to try and balance things out. This only works part of the time. Any advice would be welcome.

progressive edge = you want to progressively edge harder. start edging easily and then gradually increase your edge. your strongest edge should be right at the wake. don't let off your edge before you hit the wake.

Advice on keeping the board level:

Keep your weight evenly distributed on each foot... You are basically putting more weight on the back foot, or trying to ollie off the wake, which is usually a bad idea Smile

the biggest problem, which i really noticed today at a comp i went to is people tend to edge off right before the wake, giving them absolutely no pop/height, edge through is very key
